"Hailing from the vibrant music scene of the San Francisco Bay Area, bassist Bobby Vega, born in 1956, has left an indelible mark on both the local and global music scene, with a career spanning rock, soul, funk, and world music.

Renowned for his masterful picked funk bass playing, deep exploration of tone, and infectious sense of humor, Bobby is celebrated as a true groove virtuoso.

Starting his professional journey at the age of 15 alongside Bo Diddley, Bobby gained widespread recognition at 16 for his distinctive picked and palm-muted bass lines on Sly Stone's "I Get High On You."

Since then, his soulful touch and dynamic playing style have been sought after by a host of legendary artists, including Booker T, Santana, Tower of Power, Etta James, and Jefferson Starship, among many others.

Bobby's creativity has also led him to explore other aspects of music, including composition, production, and teaching.

With four decades of experience and nearly 5,000 performances under his belt, Bobby Vega continues to evolve his intriguing blend of rhythm & blues, rock, funk, technique, and tone, delivering every performance with extraordinary feeling and groove."
